Our friends at The Roasterie, Kansas City’s own coffee company, reach their 25th anniversary this year, and to help them celebrate, we collaborated to figure out which Tippin’s pies to pair with The Roasterie coffees.
Craig Park, a.k.a. Mr. Bean, and The Roasterie founder Danny O’Neill went through the process of “cupping,” or coffee tasting, with several flavors of Tippin’s pies and The Roasterie’s many blends and single origin offerings. With their finely tuned taste buds, they devised the following pie and coffee pairings.

Pie & Coffee Pairings
Pecan Pie + Super Tuscan Espresso — Our Super Tuscan has this incredible creamy, dulce de leche, caramel, butterscotch flavor that pairs absolutely perfectly with the filling in pecan pie.
Coconut Cream Pie + Kansas City Blend — This light-roasted, crisp and fruity coffee complements this smooth, creamy pie with flaky coconut.
Cherry Pie + Kenya Estate — This coffee has a big, heavy body and thick, chewy red cherry flavor… one of our absolute favorites and a no-brainer with this pie!
Key Lime Pie + Ethiopia Natural — The intense, tangy flavors of the pie play incredibly well next to this super fruity coffee.
Pumpkin Pie + Guatemala Huehuetenango — This coffee is perfectly mild, sweet, and creamy… an awesome pairing with pumpkin pie.
Apple Pie + Costa Rica Don Quijote — This coffee has a light, crisp sweetness that just shines in this pairing… we often refer to this sweetness as an apple or peach sweetness.
French Silk Pie + Sumatra — Rich, smoky and subtly sweet coffee with this creamy chocolate mousse… another out-of-the-park pair.
Lemon Meringue Pie + Ethiopia Natural — Our natural Ethiopia is known for its in-your-face blueberry notes, which pairs excellently with the intense lemon in this pie. LOVED this one!
Peach Pie + Guatemala Huehuetenango — This mild, creamy coffee supports this pie’s peachy sweetness and overall flavor.
Strawberry Rhubarb Pie + 25th Anniversary Blend — This blend is bright, juicy, fruity, and flavorful… and it perfectly complements the big strawberry flavor in this pie.
