One of the things we get to do this time of year at Tippin’s is donate pies to a handful of local institutions that help take care of the less fortunate in our community.
We don’t always know what we are going to have to give away because we are busy filling orders, but we always hope to have pies leftover to share. It might be a handful of pies that we made too many of, or some pies that aren’t perfect by our standards but are perfectly good to eat.
It is so rewarding to deliver the pies and meet the people who organize the meals or donations. Sometimes we even get to meet the folks who will be enjoying our pies. We are blessed to have an owner who believes in giving back to the communities in which we live and work.
In the busy-ness of the holidays, we sometimes forget that there are people who will benefit significantly from the gift of giving.
And that there are organizations and volunteers who do this work tirelessly, all year round, with little or no recognition. We would like to salute those people and those organizations that shelter, feed and look out for the less fortunate in our community. Thank you for doing what you do, and for allowing Tippin’s to be a small part of it.
